Alliteration is when you use the same letter or sound at the beginning of a word that are closely connected to each other. Basically a tongue-twister, as in:
"<span>Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers."</span>
The following lines helped shows Grendel as a monster because as the kinsmen were sleeping, without them knowing that Grendel appeared, Grendel became excited(exultant) as the he saw the men were resting. He killed the sleeping men by splitting their bodies apart violently and gruesomely.
