The beauty myth is basically the idea that as womens social power increases they feel more pressure to live up to the social standard of physical beauty. It is harmful to women because they are influenced by media and often those images aren't accurate images due to photo shopping etc. Double Jeopardy as related to gender is females make considerably less than males which adds stress to woman to work harder and try to keep up with men.

How did the explorers get the funding to make these journeys?
kicyunya [14]
Depends on where you’re talking about. For example in Europe, Christopher Columbus was funded money after asking Queen Isabella. He told her about all the he would bring back to the country. So using that information, they would most likely request funding from royalty or people of high social classes.

Which statement BEST describes how the purpose of the Freedmen's Bureau differed from the purpose of the Klu Klux Klan?
Bond [772]

Answer:

A

It was designed to assist slaves after the Civil War.

Explanation:

Congress enacted “An Act to authorize a Bureau for the Welfare of Freedmen and Refugees” to procure food, shade, clothing, pharmaceutical services, and homeland to displaced Southerners, including newly liberated African Americans. The Freedmen's Bureau, formally recognized as the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Rejected Lands, was organized in 1865 by Congress to support millions of previous black slaves and disadvantaged whites in the South in the consequence of the Civil War.
