Due to its characteristics, Democracy has been recognized as the most successful political idea in the world. In a representative type of democracy, as all democratic countries today, the citizens directly decide who will rule them, through elections where they elect their representatives. Democracy is based on a system of government, where voters give a mandate to the elected government, so deciding who will and how they will rule. Thus, the government is removable by the will of the voters, if it fails to meet the election promises.
