Yes it can because new ideas can make others change their mind in all different ways. It can also spark new topics and interest of ideas for others to explore. Politics is a good one because of Trump he got many people to vote for him because of the ideas he had. its just like when you parents say don't hang out with the wrong people even tho your not a person who does bad things being with them can influence you to do bad.
