Why did priests complain about the encomienda system? a. The Native Americans were not paid for their work c. The Spaniards mist
kati45 [8]

Answer:

The answer is d. All of the above.

Explanation:

Groups of Indians - villages or towns headed by a cacique or chief - were given to a Spanish landlord to work for him in his lands or properties. They also had to pay tributes to him. He was responsible for them. That was the system called "encomienda." Ironically, one the lord´s duties was to make them assimilate Christian beliefs and values, to lead a Christian life, but often they had too work too long and too much and there wasn´t time for cathecism left. Indians and their families were exploited and badly mistreated by the Spanish lords or "encomenderos." This sytem consolidated the state of Indians as a slave labor force and their subjugation, and it also was a good method used by the Spanish crown to pay all those Spanish men who had rendered services to it. Catholic priests and missionaries were among the early defenders of Indians.

In what ways were the early early state constitutions similar to the U.S CONSTITUTION
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

 • Every state's constitution sets up an administration that is, here and there or other, designed after the United States government.
 • Every state has an independently chosen Governor, instead of a Westminster style parliamentary arrangement of government where the CEO would be chosen by the assembly (parliament).
 • In each express, the head of state and the head of government are a similar individual. No state has a ruler or titles of respectability.
 • Every state constitution has a bill of rights. Much of the time, similar rights that are found in the government bill of rights can likewise be found in express constitutions' bills of rights. Much of the time, state constitutions give a larger number of rights than the government constitution.
 • Every state has a different official, administrative, and legal branch, similar to the government.
