Athena Parthenos is holding a winged nike figure. The fact is that Athena Nike was always wingless; Nike alone was winged. Athena also appears carrying a palm branch, wreath, or Hermes staff as the messenger of victory. That's precisely why the winged nike is a reference to the Athenian victory over the Persians.

The two all water routs towards the Orient, or better said South, Southeast, and East Asia were all around the continent of Africa.

The second route, which was discovered because of the occupation of the Muslims of the waters of the first one and were requiring high taxes, was along side the whole of the western coast of Africa to its southernmost tip, and than making a turn towards northeast to its final destination.

What event helped launch the US as an industrial powerhouse?
kati45 [8]
On May 10, 1869, at Promontory Point, Utah, workers drove a spike that linked two rail lines, one snaking from the East, the other from California, completing America's first transcontinental  railroad.
