What organizing principle or principles are used in the paragraph?
Soloha48 [4]
After a thorough research, there exists the same question with the paragraph.

Both petroleum and coal are made up of complex carbon-based molecules, and both originated with living creatures of some kind. Both are vital sources of energy for the modern world and both were formed by geologic processes over millions of years. However, petroleum was mainly formed from the remains of ocean-dwelling microorganisms. Coal, on the other hand, originated from decayed vegetation in ancient swamps and bogs. In any case, it took millions of years for both coal and oil to be produced. This is the case because it took that much time for overlying sediments to produce the unimaginable heat and pressure that would one day allow us to harvest these energy resources.

The paragraph uses 'Compare and Contrast' organization. It presented us the differences and similarities between coal and petroleum.

4. Which factors have been major influences on the growth of American cities?
klio [65]

Answer:

Option C: Location and Transportation are the major factors for the growth of American cities.

Explanation:

Natural resources have always helped America in its growth. Because of the awesome location besides Hudson river, transportation became quite easy. This was the main reason for building the canal over it. It, thereby helped in trade and led to a good growth of cities. People could move in from rural areas and settle here and help in the growth of cities.

Hence, Option C is most appropriate. It is not because of land or hierarchies. It was also not because of the climate and safety that Americas cities grew, as per other options, A, B and D.
