In chapters 36–39, the theme of appearance versus reality comes up repeatedly. It often represents a clue about the differences

between Tom and Huck. In chapter 36, Tom is trying to figure out how to get various items to Jim. In at least fifty words, summarize Tom's approach to this situation, Huck's suggestion, and Tom's response. Explain what both tell us about these characters.

In  the chapter 36 Huck and Tom try to set free Jim, who was imprisoned, they start digging with their case knives, Huck suggest to use a pick and a shovel, and after a while Tom agrees due to they have no success with the knives, however Tom only accepts if they pretend that the pick and the shovel are case knives. This shows that Huck is more mature and shows again Tom impracticality and self-indulgent.

Answer:

c. The loss of value from not reading or sleeping

Explanation:

Opportunity cost refers to the value of the best alternative that is not selected. In that respect, even though it is not clear which alternative is favored , and the question only asks about the opportunity cost of eating, then the cost of value can be deduced to be related to the choices that were not selected, which in this case are reading and sleeping.

How does thoreau respond when people ask if he is lonely living alone in the woods
Gnom [1K]

In "Walden; or Life in the Woods" Henry David Thoreau tells us about what is like to live a simple life in the woods. His nearest neighbor is a mile away and there is no house is visible from where he lives. He lives far away from society but feels no melancholy "There can be  no very black melancholy to him who lives in the midst of Nature and  has his senses still." He doesn't feel lonely or oppressed by solitude, moreover, he feels Nature's friendship and support. When he is asked if he is lonely he is tempted to reply that the whole earth is a point in space, and in the Milky Way. What we really need, is not to be near many men but to live close to the source of our lives. “How vast and profound  is the influence of the subtile powers of Heaven  and of Earth!”

Which line from "The Medicine Bag" contains dialogue?
alexandr1967 [171]

Answer:

The line from "The Medicine Bag" that contains dialogue is:

D. "You found the money in my boots?" he asked Mom.

Explanation:

"The Medicine Bag" is a short story by author Virginia Driving Hawk Sneve in which the theme concerns heritage and culture.

Every option given contains something that was said by someone. However, in options A through C, we do not have it in the form of a dialogue. Those options are reporting what was said. Notice that none of them uses quotation marks. Option D, on the other hand, is written in the form of a dialogue. It has quotation marks to separate the narrator's words from the character's words. For that reason, letter D is the best option.
