Hutchins didn’t want to get involved into World War 2 because 1) They were still recovering from the Great Depression.2) The damage from World War 1 was still prominent. 3) They didn’t want to put more American lives in danger after losing so many troops and American lives in the bombing of Pearl Harbor and actions of World War 1.
