OUR SON IS THE  STAR THAT IS CLOSEST TO EARTH .WE COULD NOT LIVE  WITHOUT THE SUN. THE SUN GIVES EARTH HEAT AND LIGHT .  EARTH MOVES AROUND  THE SUN .  IT TAKES EARTH ONE YEAR TO MOVE AROUND THE SUN. EARTH TURNS ALL THE WAY AROUND ONCE A DAY . THIS MAKES IT LOOK LIKE THE SUN MOVES THROUGH THE SKY. IT IS A  DAYTIME WHEN THE PART OF EARTH WHERE YOU LIVE FACES THE SUN . DAYTIME IS WHEN WE GET MOST OF THE SUN'S LIGHT AND HEAT.  IT IS  NIGHTTIME WHEN THE PART OF EARTH WHERE YOU LIVE FACES AWAY FROM THE SUN. WE CANNOT SEE THE SUN OR FEEL ITS HEAT AT NIGHT.OUR SUN HELPS PLANTS GROW. PLANTS USE THE SUN'S LIGHT TO MAKE THEIR OWN FOOD.ANIMALS AND PEOPLE NEED THE SUN'S LIGHT TO SEE DURING THE DAY. THE SUN'S HEAT KEEPS ANIMALS AND PEOPLE WARM. THE SUN'S LIGHT IS VERY BRIGHT AND ITS HEAT CAN FEEL HOT. YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR EYES AND SKIN SAFE FROM THE SUN.

Allisa [31]
Segregation was an useful tool in preserving the economic and social dominance of the white southerners.
