When looking for this answer, we know that you have to insert a word. I would go with choice, "A". That is the only choice that inserts a new word 'which'.

I hope this helped you! If you need more assistance, let me know!

<u>Which sentence combines the sentences by inserting a word? </u>

Immigrants often settled in cities, <u>which</u> were home to industry.

The word "<u>which</u>" combined the two sentences to create a unified idea.

The function of the word "<u>which</u>" is to provide <u>additional information</u> about the previous sentence that may relevant to fully understand it.

This is in contrast to the word <u>"that"</u> whose function is to limit what the sentence is trying to say.

Who would have ever knew

That we would ever be more than friends

We're real worldwide, breakin' all the rules

She like a song played again and again

That girl, like something off a poster

That girl, is a dime they say

That girl, is a gun to my holster

She's running through my mind all day, ay

Not once did you leave my mind

We talk on the phone, from night 'til the morn'

Girl, you really changed my life

Doin' things I never do

I'm in the kitchen cookin' things she likes

We're real worldwide, breakin' all the rules

Someday I wanna make you my wife

That girl, like something off a poster

That girl, is a dime they say (Hey)

That girl, is a gun to my holster

She's running through my mind all day, ay

Shawty's like a melody in my head

That I can't keep out, got me singin' like

6. relative pronoun: whom   antecedent: cousin

Explanation:

A <u>noun clause</u> is used where a noun or prououn would also be correct.

Give the prize to the poet.  Give the prize to her.  (object of the preposition to)

<u>Appositive</u>: Two nouns in a row, the second one gives a bit more dentification or iinformation about the first one.

<u>Infinitive</u>: the base form of a verb with to preceding the verb. Used in places where nouns, adverbs or adjectives could be used.
