The literary element in the lines is B. Resolution. Unferth drunkenly and rudely claimed that Beowulf was not as great as Breca and that Beowulf had lost the swimming completion. Those claims cause conflict, which Beowulf resolved with the truth through words.  He resolved it by stating the facts and explaining that he was the winner and he actually had more difficulty during the competition than Breca.
