In Act IV, Macbeth says, “D*mn all those who trust the witches.” Explain why this line is ironic.
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

By that statement, Macbeth makes an ironic comment by cursing those who trust the witches which he had been doing since the prophecy was told to him.

Explanation:

Irony is when an expected event or result did not happen but rather the opposite happens. In simple words, the irony is when one thing is expected but the complete opposite happens. So, the use of such language that is supposed to mean one thing but the opposite happens is known as irony.

The irony in Macbeth's statement <em>"dam n ed all those that trust them"</em> in Act IV scene i is that he is criticizing those who trust the three witches and their words. But we know his own actions were all based on what the witches had prophesied. He never had any intention of becoming the king of Scotland until the three witches told him about his future in Act I. And since then, he had made sure to try to make or see the prophecy about his accession come true, even to the point of murdering those who pose an obstacle in his way.

And just before he made that ironical statement, he was seen conferring with the witches about the fulfillment of the prophecies that they'd made. And by cursing those who trust the witches and their words, he is also unknowingly criticizing his own self.

PARRIS: There is either obedience or the church will burn like hell is burning. In at least 100 words, describe in your own word
MAVERICK [17]

What lies at the root of Parris character is the idea of binary oppositions. Parris is either convinced that the individual is the agent of Satan or that the person is in accord with him to whatever he does. Parris either view himself as discarded or in total control. Like Salem, he sees the world much in binary oppositions. The quote is relevant to Paaris because there is no complexity or complexed consciousness. He believes either the church will suffer, or he will have complete devotion from his followers. Parris states a distinct line that the one who disputes will be cast into hell or either he will get a total submission from his followers.

Through his statement, he directly attacks the Proctor. Proctor has represented himself opposite, as not an advocate to Parris and that he is not in prescription with the organized religion of the church. To such opposition, Parris forms the base of “either you are with me or against me”. For Parris threat and fear is the sole way to ensure loyalty and faithfulness. Hence, Proctor does not believe in such a way.

I WILL GIVE THE CROWN
atroni [7]
My parents seemed like a tyrant for a long time. They always tried to make me do things for them, like one time I had just got home from school and was trying to study for a test coming up and they started screaming at me for not having the house picked up, but they should’ve had it picked up before I got there. They would always try and take credit for the house work I’ve done, ever told me ‘thank you,’ they were very arrogant too. //I hope this works, sorry if it’s not usable

Margaret [11]

Answer:

A possible theme could be growing apart

Explanation:

the oak is a tree that will continue to grow and become very tall and will be able to see the view from the top

while the rose will only grow about like 8 inches and stay closer to the ground and won't get the same view as the tree causing it to get a limited view of what it will be able to see

I hope this right and will help you out a little bit.I read this like 3 years ago and just remember writing something like this in my notes.
