It is common for people to make generalizations about other cultures. For example: all French people wear "berets" or all Canadians play hockey. Are they fair and accurate generalizations? If so why and if not, why not? Discuss in English why these generalizations are made. Think of two other generalizations about French-speaking people or countries? Are they fair and accurate? Why or why not? Try to find out about one generalization some French-speaking countries or people may have about Americans. In French, answer these two questions: if it is fair and accurate? French know how to cook gourmet dinners.

Generalizations are never fair and accurate as there is always a percentage of people who does not fit into the mold.

If you know 3 languages, you’re trilingual, if you know two languages, you’re bilingual, if you know only one language, then you’re an American!

(I’m French and I don’t eat frogs and also I know some Americans who can speak French).
