One month, Ruby worked 6 hours more then Isaac, and Shetland worked 4 times as many hours as Rudy. Together they worked 126 hour

If we assume the number of hours Isaac worked is x hours. So in that case the number of hours Ruby worked must be 6 + x. And similarly Shetland worked around 4 (6+x) hours.

So we can easily form an expression that gives us how many hours each worked. So basically x + 6 + x + 24 + 4x = 126. So 6x = 96/6 = 16.

SO Isaac worked for 16 hours. Rudy worked for 22 and Shetland worked for the rest.

What is d if <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=%5Cfrac%7B3d-2%7D%7B8%7D%20%3D%20-d%2B16%5Cfrac%7B1%7D%7B4%7D" id="TexFormula1" t

Answer: d=12

Step-by-step explanation:

\displaystyle\\\frac{3d-2}{8} =-d+16\frac{1}{4} \\\\\frac{3d-2}{8} =-d+\frac{16*4+1}{4} \\\\\frac{3d-2}{8} =-d+\frac{64+1}{4} \\\\\frac{3d-2}{8} =-d+\frac{65}{4}

Multiply both parts of the equation by 8:

\displaystyle\\3d-2=(-d+\frac{65}{4} )(8)\\\\3d-2=-8d+65*2\\\\3d-2=-8d+130\\\\3d-2+2=-8d+130+2\\\\3d=-8d+132\\\\3d+8d=-8d+132+8d\\\\11d=132\\

Divide both parts of the equation by 11:

d=12

Can someone explain the process getting from:
spin [16.1K]
\rm 5=e^{3b}

The unknown b is stuck in the exponent position.
We can can fix that by using logarithms.
Log is the inverse operation of the exponential.

We'll take log of each side.
Log of what base tho?

Well, the base of our exponential is e,
so we'll take log base e of each side.

\rm log_e(5)=log_e(e^{3b})

We'll apply one of our log rules next:
\rm \log(x^y)=y\cdot\log(x)

This allows us to take the exponent out of the log,

\rm log_e(5)=(3b)log_e(e)

Another thing to remember about logs:
When the base of the log matches the inside of the log,
then the whole thing is simply 1,
\rm log_{10}(10)=1
\rm log_5(5)=1
\rm log_e(e)=1

So our equation simplifies to this,

\rm log_e(5)=(3b)\cdot1

As a final step, divide both sides by 3,

\rm \frac13log_e(5)=b

k, hope that helps!

Find the minimum point for the function f(x) = |2x - 1| (0, ½) (½, 0) (0, -½) (-½, 0)
torisob [31]
Minimum point of an absolute value function is when f(x) = 0
0 = <span>|2x - 1|
2x</span> - 1 = 0
2x = 1
x = 1/2

Minimum point is (1/2, 0)
