One month, Ruby worked 6 hours more then Isaac, and Shetland worked 4 times as many hours as Rudy. Together they worked 126 hour

If we assume the number of hours Isaac worked is x hours. So in that case the number of hours Ruby worked must be 6 + x. And similarly Shetland worked around 4 (6+x) hours.

So we can easily form an expression that gives us how many hours each worked. So basically x + 6 + x + 24 + 4x = 126. So 6x = 96/6 = 16.

SO Isaac worked for 16 hours. Rudy worked for 22 and Shetland worked for the rest.

Find the point on the plane 4x+3y+z=10 that is nearest to (2,0,1). What are the values of x, y, and z for the point? x= 28 /
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

\frac{1}{\sqrt{26}}.

Step-by-step explanation:

The minimun distance between a point and a plane is the perpendicular distance. The formula is

d = \frac{|Ax_0+By_0+Cz_0+D|}{\sqrt{A^{2}+B^{2}+C^{2}}}

where (x_0,y_0,z_0)=(2,0,1), A=4, B=3, C=1 and D=-10. So, the distance is

d = \frac{|8+1-10|}{\sqrt{16+9+1}}

d =  \frac{|-1|}{\sqrt{26}}

d = \frac{1}{\sqrt{26}}.

A line has a slope of 9 and a y-intercept of 2. What is its equation in slope-intercept form?
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

y=9x+2

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard form for a linear equation is y=mx+b. m=9 since it is slope and b=2 which is the y intercept. So the equation would be y=9x+2.

At the movie theatre, child admission is $5.10 and adult admission is $9.70. On Thursday, 128 tickets were sold for a total sale
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

53

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of children tickets sold and y be the number of adult tickets sold. Then

x+y=128.

The cost of x children tickets is $5.10x and the cost of y adult tickets is $9.70y, so

5.10x+9.70y =896.60.

From the first equation,

x=128-y,

then

5.10(128-y)+9.70y=896.60,\\ \\652.80-5.10y+9.70y=896.60,\\ \\4.60y=243.8,\\ \\y=53.

53 adult tickets were sold.

The pyramid below has a square base.
zavuch27 [327]

The volume of the pyramid would be 2406.16 cubic cm.

<h3>How to find the volume of a square-based right pyramid?</h3>

Supposing that:

The length of the sides of the square base of the pyramid has = b units

The height of the considered square-based pyramid = h units,

The pyramid below has a square base.

h = 24.4 cm

b = 17.2 cm

Then, its volume is given by:

V = \dfrac{1}{3} \times b^2 \times h \: \rm unit^3

V = \dfrac{1}{3} \times 17.2^2 \times 24.4 \: \rm unit^3\\\\V = 2406.16

Therefore, the volume of the pyramid would be 2406.16 cubic cm.
