My friend had concluded that if he took his language and culture out of his poetry, he stood a better chance of receiving a fell

owship. He took out his native language, the poetic patois of our reality, the rich mixture of Spanish, English, pachuco and street talk which we know so well. In other words, he took the tortillas out of his poetry, which is to say he took the soul out of his poetry. At a neighborhood fair in Texas, somewhere between the German Oom-pah Sausage Stand and the Mexican Gorditabooth, I overheard a young man say to his friend, “I wish I had a heritage. Sometimes I feel-so lonely for one." And the tall American trees were dangling their thick branches right down over his head.

Explanation:

In the first part of the story it showed how the friend wants to get a good fellowship and is scared of not getting it by putting his culture and language into his poety. In the second/end it mentioned someone saying they longed for a culture to have but if the friend puts their culture, language, and soul into their poety that one person could end up reading it that lons for one.

What was the intended purpose of revolutionary pamphlets and articles, such as Thomas Paine's Common Sense and "The Crisis, No.
inessss [21]

Pamphlets like Common Sense and The Crisis #1 were published with the intention of influencing public opinion in favor of the very divisive cause of American independence from the British Crown. thus option B is correct.

What is the Thomas Paine crisis' major argument?

The colonists are urged by Paine to place a high value on victory and the freedom that follows because "the harder the battle, the more wonderful the triumph"—"what we gain too cheap, we esteem too cheaply," he observes, and "it is dearness only that gives everything its value." No. 1 crisis

It is crucial to keep in mind that many residents of the American colonies believed themselves to be primarily British.

Declaring the necessity for independence was viewed by many in the Colonies as treason. These pamphlets contributed to the debate and persuaded people of something that had previously been unheard of. A PR effort was required to increase American support for the revolution.
