Napoleon took advantage of the negative political climate following the French Revolution. He was a well-known strategist and warfarer and technically ended the French Revolution, as he was part of the Directory and overthrew the Directory, replacing it with the Consulate, where he was the leader. This then paved the way for him to become emperor of France. He was very much on the side of the people during the French Revolution and eliminated the minority opposition quickly. He also took care of European Affairs during the revolution and excelled in this area.
