Refer to Explorations in literature for a complete version of this narrative. Read this excerpt from "Why I Write" by George Orw

ell. So it is clear what kind of books I want to write, in so far as I could be said to want to write books at that time. I wanted to write enormous naturalistic novels with unhappy endings, full of detailed descriptions and arresting similes, and also full of passages in which words were used partly for the sake of their sound. And in fact my first completed novel, Burmese Days, which I wrote when I was thirty but projected much earlier, is rather that kind of book. How does Orwell's use of language affect the tone of the text? A. It creates a formal and appreciative tone. B. It creates an informal and serious tone. C. It creates a formal and revealing tone. D. It creates an informal and dreamy tone.
Here my answer:

it creates a formal and revealing tone.

Answer: C) It creates a formal and revealing tone.

Explanation: The tone of a text or sentence is the author's or speaker's attitude towards the audience, the subject or even the characters of the text. There are many different kinds of tones, like: positive, negative, objective, sad, angry, etc. In the given excerpt from "Why I Write" by George Orwell, we can see that his use of language creates a formal and reveling tone, becuase he is explaining (using formal language) what kind of books he was interested in writing.
