Top of the Food Chain is about how horrible the human race is to one another and to other living beings. Poison was used to get rid of the mosquitoes they had. That didn't work so they brought in geckos, that died from the poison because they ate the mosquitoes. Then, some cats ended up eating the dead geckos which made the cats die. The whole process caused rat infestation. So the people brought in more cats to resolve the issue which made the cycle start all over again multiple times.
