Why would a country with abundant resources be better off trading than being sufficient? Be sure to use absolute and comparative advantage to explain your answer.

Absolute advantage is the ability to produce more or a given product using a given amount of resources. Comparative advantage is the ability to produce a product most efficiently given all the other products that could be produced. The country still needs to trade for goods and services where it does not have a comparative advantage.
