What differentiable functions have an arc length on the interval [a, b] given by the following integrals? Note that the answers
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

a) \pm 8\frac{x^{5}}{5}+C

b) \pm 4 sin(2x) + C

Step-by-step explanation:

Given integrals are:

a) \int\limits^a_b {\sqrt{{1+64x^{8}} } \, dx ---(1)

b) \int\limits^a_b {\sqrt{1+64cos^{2}(2x)} } \, dx---- (2)

Standard form

                L= \int\limits^a_b {\sqrt{1+(f'(x))^{2}} } \, dx

<h3>Part A</h3>

compare (1) with standard form

[f'(x)]^{2} = 64x^{8}\\f'(x)=\pm 8x^{4}\\f(x)= \pm8\frac{x^{5}}{5}+C

<h3>Part B</h3>

Compare (2) with standard form

[f'(x)]^{2}=64cos^{2}(2x)\\f'(x)= \pm 8cos(2x)\\f(x)=\pm 8\frac{sin(2x)}{2}+C\\f(x)= \pm 4sin(2x)+C

Write y=x^2-2x-3 in vertex form
-BARSIC- [3]
To solve this, use the ‘completing the square’ strategy.
Leave a space to make the first two values a perfect square.
y=(x^2-2x___)-3
Divide -2 by 2 and square that number to put in the blank. Then subtract that number from outside.
y=(x^2-2x+1)-3-1
Simplify!
y=(x-1)^2-4
It is in vertex form now ;)

STEP 2
Antiseptic Wipes: multiply number of total kits by number of antiseptic wipes per kit

9 * 16= 144 antiseptic wipes total

STEP 3
find difference between steps 1 & 2
= 216 bandages - 144 antiseptic wipes
= 72 more bandages

ANSWER: She packed 72 more bandages than antiseptic wipes.

Hope this helps! :)

Answer:

we know that 120 liked both places and 200 liked Pokhara. To find the number of students that only liked Pokhara 200-120=80 students

we know that 120 liked both places and 220 liked Chitwan. To find the number of students that only liked Chitwan 220-120=100 students

to find number of students that liked neither of places:

add

80+120+100=300. Subtract by total number of students.

350-300=50 students
