Well to start off animating you need to know what your going to be animating about, after you know what you want to animate go to google and type "Free animation Software"... after you find one that suits you, use it...

Well, if you want, you need the right software to begin with. Then, you want to read a manual on it, or just use YouTube to figure it out, but the software is most important. Then, just use trial and error.
