The archetype illustrated by Theseus is The Hero. The excerpt says “<u>heroic feats of daring</u>” and we see him defeat the fierce Minotaur, because of this the Athenians are released from the horrible sacrifices they have been forced to make to the King of Minos.

Theseus actions portray him as a hero. He is brave and risks his life to free his people. Even though he personally is not harmed he decides to help and free the Minotaur's captives with disregard to his safety.
