Alrighty, so, you're currently trapped inside a cottage with a witch who wants to eat you and your brother. What do you do to escape? Do you beat the witch with her own broom and make a run for it? Do you push her into the oven (This is what happens in the story) and lock her in so that she burns up, then you and Hansel make a great escape? What do you do? (:

Identify Puri-tanical constraints from the time period that are present in the novel the scarlett letter.
Luba_88 [7]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached, we can say the following.

Puritanical constraints from the time period that are present in the novel the "Scarlett Letter" are the following.

First, the precarious situation Puritans lived in, when they founded the North American colony of Plymouth in 1620. Then the lack of food and supplies to resist and survive the harsh weather conditions of Massachusetts at that time. They needed the help of the Native American Indians in order to survive. Just half of the original Puritans that arrived in North America could survive.

Another constrain in the story is the idea of "Building the City upon a Hill." After being constantly persecuted by the Church of England, Puritans had to leave Britain and traveled to teh North American territory to found this colony and freely practice their religious teachings, but this was not an easy process.

Another constrain was the severity and sternness of the Puritans that caused many problems in the colony of Plymouth.
