How does the setting of tkam play into an overall theme ?

English
1 answer:
mr Goodwill [35]3 years ago
7 0
The setting makes the theme racism and evil. Because this story took place in the 1930s state of Alabama, it showed us through a fictional series of events the real events that took place; the mistakes we made, the problems we faced, the problems we caused. Because this takes place in a 1930s Alabama, one of the most segregated states, it shows us the true racism that took place at this time.

hope this helps!!!!!

How many comparisons are needed to locate or to add each of these words in the search tree for the words oenology, phrenology, c
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

(a) 3

(b) 3

(c) 3

(d) 3

Explanation:

(a) Comparing palmistry to oenology, it comes alphabetically after oenology, hence we move on to compare it to phrenology. Now, palmistry come first alphabetically, meaning we move on to compare it to ornithology. As ornithology has no children, there isn't any comparison needed so we end up with 3 comparisons.

(b) Comparing etymology to oenology, it comes alphabetically before oenology, hence we move on to compare it to campanology. Now, palmistry is latter alphabetically, meaning we move on to compare it to ichthyology. Etymology comes first alphabetically and as ichthyology has no rightward children, no more comparison is needed and we end up with 3 comparisons.

(c) Comparing paleontology to oenology, it comes alphabetically after oenology, hence we move on to compare it to phrenology. Now, palmistry is first alphabetically, so we move on to compare it to ornithology. As ornithology has no children, we won't make any more comparisons so we end up with 3 comparisons.

(d) Comparing glaciology to oenology, it comes alphabetically before oenology, so we move on to compare it to campanology. Now, palmistry comes latter alphabetically, so we move on to compare it to ichthyology. Glaciology is first alphabetically in this case and as ichthyology has no rightward children, no more comparisons are necessary and we end up with 3 comparisons

Read the excerpt from "A Modest Proposal."
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer: that parents would rather sell their children than be responsible for them.

Explanation:

A False Premise refers to a situation where an argument is based on a wrong assumption. Normally this would mean that the argument would be wrong as well but sometimes this is not the case.

In this essay, the author, Jonathan Swift relied on the false premise that parents would rather sell their children than be responsible for them. In other words he was saying that parents would sell their children to the higher classes to to survive.
