Y = mx + b
slope(m) = 1/4
(4,-8)....x = 4 and y = -8
now sub and find b, the y int
-8 = 1/4(4) + b
-8 = 1 + b
-8 - 1 = b
-9 = b
so ur equation is : y = 1/4x - 9....but we need it in standard form

y = 1/4x - 9
-1/4x + y = -9...multiply everything by -4
x - 4y = 36 <====

If cos A = 1/2, then what is the positive value of cos 1/2 A, in simplest radical form with a rational denominator?
stepan [7]

Answer:

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = {\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\cos A = \frac{1}{2}

Required

Determine \cos(\frac{1}{2}A)

To do this, we make use of the following identity

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = \sqrt{\frac{\cos A+1}{2}}

Substitute: \cos A = \frac{1}{2}

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = \sqrt{\frac{\frac{1}{2}+1}{2}}

Solve the numerator

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = \sqrt{\frac{\frac{2+1}{2}}{2}}

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = \sqrt{\frac{\frac{3}{2}}{2}}

Rewrite as:

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = \sqrt{\frac{3}{2} * \frac{1}{2}}

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = \sqrt{\frac{3}{4}}

Take square roots

\cos(\frac{1}{2}A) = {\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

The green family went out for dinner at their favorite restaurant. the cost of their food came to $52.00. they must also pay 6%
riadik2000 [5.3K]
$52 × .06 = 3.12
52 + 3.12 = 55.12
55.12 × 0.15 = 8.27
55.12 + 8.27 = 63.39

Anni [7]
Number of students = 26
Number of students without siblings = 4
⇒ Number of students with at least one siblings = 26 - 4 = 22

Number of students with brothers = 17
Number of students with sisters = 7
⇒ Number of students with both a brother and a sister = 17 + 7 - 22 = 2

P(student has a brother, given that they have a sister) = 2/7
