Angle LHC is equivalent to angle NHU because they are vertical angles.
Vertical angles must be equal because they share the same vertex (center point).
You could say it as Vertical Opposite Angles because it means the exact same thing.

Hope this helps :)

Jackson is building a small rectangular basketball section in his backyard. The length of the section will be 1.25 times the wid
il63 [147K]

Answer:

The dimensions of the basketball section are: length of 17.5 feet and width of 14 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

Length of the small rectangular basketball section = 1.25 times the width

2. Part A. Create an equation to represent the area of the basketball section, A, in terms of the width, w.

Let's recall that the formula of the area of a rectangle is:

Area = Length * Width, therefore:

A = 1.25w * w

A = 1.25w²

Part B. Jackson decides to make the area of the basketball section 245 sq feet. What are the dimensions, in feet of the basketball section?

Let's replace the value given in the equation we created in part A, this way:

A = 1.25w²

245 = 1.25w²

w² = 245/1.25

w² = 196

√w² = √196

w = 14 ⇒ 1.25w = 17.5

The dimensions of the basketball section are: length of 17.5 feet and width of 14 feet.

8-inch boxes are stacked next to 6-inch boxes. What is the lowest height at which the two stacks will be the same height?
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

The lowest height at which the two stacks will be the same height is 24 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

For answering this problem, we have to find out the lowest common multiple of 6 and 8, listing its prime factors, this way:

6 = 3 * 2

8 = 2 * 2 * 2

Now, we multiply each factor the greatest number of times it occurs in either number. If the same factor occurs more than once in both numbers, you multiply the factor the greatest number of times it occurs.

Therefore, we have:

2 : 3 times as prime factor of 8

3: 1 time as prime factor of 6

The lowest common multiple is:

2 * 2 * 2 * 3 = 24

The lowest height at which the two stacks will be the same height is 24 inches.
