So basically the British didn't want us to trade with the French. Then the French didn't want us to trade with the French. The British being extra decided to imprison our sailor if they found French goods in our ships. Then Thomas Jefferson decided to start the Embargo Act which instead of helping the problem it started a disastrous war.
