Amanda's parents tell her that if she texts while driving, they will take away her car for a year. Erin's parents tell her that

Both of these punishments worked because Erin is probably more rule abiding and doesn't need much convincing to do the wrong thing. So Erin's parents say the weekend just so she knows it isn't the right thing to text while driving. Amanda is probably not aqs rule abiding. She needs more extreme punishments to really make her not do something.
