The second actor, also called deuteragonist, according to Aristotle, was first introduced by the playwright Aeschylus. In this way, Aeschylus introduced into the theater the possibility of direct conflict or agreement between two characters, therefore adding a new dramatic element that made action and dialogue more robust and more important in dramatic representations.
