Read the excerpt from Monster. PETROCELLI Well, if you don’t know exactly where you were, can you tell me anyone who might know

where you were? STEVE I don’t even remember where I was. When the detectives asked me where I was, I couldn’t even remember the day they were talking about. They didn’t ask me about it until weeks later. What would the judge and jury most likely think after hearing this dialogue? Steve may be dishonest because he is accusing the detectives of working slowly. Steve may be honest because people could easily forget where they were weeks earlier. Steve may be deceitful because he seems to be avoiding Petrocelli's questioning. Steve may be trustworthy because he is repeating the same thing that he told the detectives earlier.

Answer:

Steve may be deceitful because he seems to be avoiding Petrocelli's questioning.

Explanation:

This is because, Steve seems to be avoiding answering the question he was asked but rather, making reference to his experience few weeks back between him and the detectives regarding to where he was then.

Even-though, he might not have remembered then where he was, there is a possibility that he remembered now but choose not to answer.

How does enjambment affect the mood of a poem?
prisoha [69]
It increases the pace of a poem, as it makes the reader read each line without a pause. This makes the poem more fast-paced. This in turn gives the poem a sense of urgency and tension, and sometimes a more cheerful, joyful mood, as these are things that are associated with fast-paced speech.

Why might an author include dialect in a story? check all that apply. to allude to a character’s regional background to describe
zloy xaker [14]
An author includes dialect in a story to:
- <span>to allude to a character’s regional background
- to add to the cultural context of a story’s setting
- to allude to a character’s social background
- to create a more genuine dialogue between characters

"</span><span>to describe what a particular setting looks like" is not included since it mainly talks about the setting of the story which is not directly related to the dialect they will be using.</span>
