If current trends continue, what will happen to the Himalayan Mountains in the next million years?

If current trends continue, the Himalayan Mountains will continue to increase in height over the next million years. This is because the Indian Plate is continuously crashing into the Asian Plate. Since both are continental plates, rather than subducting easily, the two plates collide and shoot upwards slowly.

adoni [48]
