Answer:

Heat fluctuations

Explanation:

Water's high heat capacity means that it requires a lot of energy to raise the temperature of a unit volume of water by one degree. It also requires to lose this same amount of energy to lower its temperatures by one degree.

This means that as land temperatures fluctuate a lot from day to night depending on the rate of sunlight hitting the earth, the waters of the oceans remain more or less within very a small range of temperatures. This protects the organism of the oceans from high heat fluctuations that may cause heat shock.

What is cytokinesis ?

In biology, cytokinesis is the process through which a single cell physically divides into two. Cytokinesis, which occurs throughout embryonic development as well as tissue growth and repair in higher plants and animals, is the primary reproductive activity of unicellular organisms.

 • Cytokinesis serves the following purposes The process aids in preserving the precision of cell division. where the descendant cells' cytoplasmic component is distributed uniformly. The method aids in giving the division more accuracy.

Engage/Daily Bellringer - The graph provided shows the population of an organism
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

carrying capacity

Explanation:

The leveling off is an indication of the carrying capacity of the environment.

By definition, the carrying capacity of an environment is the total number of organism of particular species that an environment can support given the resources it has.

When a particular species of organism is introduced into a new environment, it first of all spend some time trying to adjust to this new environment and this time is characterized by little population growth.

After successfully adjusting and getting acclimatized to the new environment, the population of the organism experiences a sharp rise and then levels off as the maximum population size the environment can support based on the resources it has is reached. This jund of population growth is referred to as logistic growth.

The population of the organism fluctuates a little bit around the carrying capacity based on several factors, especially competition for resources.
