He was originally negotiating with for access to the mouth of the Mississippi River in New Orleans. France was low on money at the time, and in need of a lot of money to fund more of Napoleon's battles - so France offered their ENTIRE Louisiana Territory instead of just New Orleans for only three cents an acre

Under what conditions do you think the United States should remain neutral when other countries are fighting?
Ray Of Light [21]
I believe that the only time the United States should get involved in wars is when there is a genocide occurring, our allies call upon us for help, or when our democracy/liberty is at stake. Unless one of those conditions have been met, we should stay neutral. Those are in no particular order, just what I think.

Why was the use of coal an improvement on using human, animal, wood or water power for energy?
PSYCHO15rus [73]

The discovery of the potential of the coal fro producing energy was revolutionary for the humans. The coal gave new opportunities, as this natural resource was able to produce so big of an amount of energy that the machines based on its work were able to do the work for which before that, lots of people and animals were needed, or it was take much longer time with the previously used energy sources like the wood and the water.

The coal gave the basis for the industrialization process, and it managed to revolutionize the manufacturing of the goods, which for the countries that used it, brought a very big wealth.

What actions did Gandhi take to fight injustice in his first years back in India?
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

So first he decided to remain in South Africa to begin a campaign against the legislation to basically give Indians the right to vote. He then formed a group called the Natal Indian Congress. Soon in 1906, the Transvaal Government wanted to restrict the rights of Indians even more. So, Gandhi organized his very first campaign of mass civil disobedience or whats called satyagraha. This protest lasted several years and finally, he and the South African Government came to a compromise.  In 1914 he returned to India to live there and was even supporting Britain in the first world war. But in 1919 he did another mass civil disobedience because Britain made it mandatory to draft Indians in the military. A lot of people supported this protest and by 1920 he was the leader of the Indian movement for independent.

( If this sounds wrong or is wrong then I am very sorry but I think this is right I also did put this in my own words)
