Answer:

Okay, so I guess they also want to figure out the set up charge also- this is going to be a 2 variable equation.

X is the fee per person, and y is the set up charge.

25x+ y= 525

75x + y= 1475

So what you need to do is pick an equation, then isolate x:

25x + y= 525

25x= 525 -y

x= (525 - y)/25

Then, plug this in for x in the other equation:

75x + y= 1475    (original problem)

75((525 - y)/25) +y =1475       (subbed in x from other equation)

(75*525 -75y)/25 +y=1475     (distributed 75) (also could be multiplying fractions; 75/1)

(39375- 75y)/25 +y = 1475       (next I am simplifying the fraction)

1575 -3y +y = 1475        (Subtracting 1575; combining y's)

-2y = -100 (divide both sides by -2)

y=50

Okay, so now we know what the set up charge is- let's plug it into the unaltered first equation. (Note: At this point, you could really sub it into either equation and solve for x.)

25x+ y= 525

25x + 50 = 525

25x= 475

x= 19

Let's double check by subbing in y to the other equation as well:

75x + y= 1475

75x +50= 1475

75x= 1425

x= 19

Yay! It checks out in both problems!

Hope this helps, make sure to get a good night's sleep still.

What number is halfway between 0.2 and 0.3
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

For numbers between 0.1 and 0.2, there is a 1 in the tenths' place: 0.11, 0.12, 0.13, and so on. For numbers between 0.2 and 0.3, there is a 2 in the tenths' place: 0.21, 0.22, 0.23, and so forth. For example, the number “seven and forty-two hundredths” can be written as 7.42.

REY [17]

Answer:

Yes, the sum of any two sides is greater than the third.

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine whether the provided sides are the sides of a triangle check if the sum of two sides is more than the third side.

The length provided are: 8.5, 13 and 19.1.

  • Consider the sides 8.5 and 13:

        The sum is:

        8.5+13=21.5

        This sum is greater than the third side 19.1

  • Consider the sides 8.5 and 19.1:

        The sum is:

        8.5+19.1=27.6

        This sum is greater than the third side 13

  • Consider the sides 13 and 19.1:

        The sum is:

         13+19.1=32.1

        This sum is greater than the third side 8.5

Thus, the sides 8.5, 13 and 19.1 are sides of a triangle.

A particle moves in a straight line so that its velocity at time
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

s(2) = 7.75

Step-by-step explanation:

given the velocity v(t) = t^3

we can find the position s(t) by simply integrating v(t) and using the boundary conditions s(1)=2

s(t) = \int {v(t)} \, dt\\ s(t) = \int {t^3} \, dt\\s(t) = \dfrac{t^4}{4}+c

we know throught s(1) = 2, that at t=1, s =2. we can use this to find the value of the constant c.

s(1) = \dfrac{1^4}{4}+c\\4 = \dfrac{1^4}{4}+c\\c = 4-\dfrac{1}{4}\\c = \dfrac{15}{4} = 3.75

Now we can use this value of t to formulate the position function s(t):

s(t) = \dfrac{t^4}{4}+\dfrac{15}{4}\\

this is the position at time t.

to find the position at t=2

s(2) = \dfrac{2^4}{4}+\dfrac{15}{4}\\

s(2) = \dfrac{2^4}{4}+\dfrac{15}{4}\\

s(2) = \dfrac{31}{4} = 7.75

the position of the particle at time, t =2 is s(2) = 7.75

A child care center has three rooms, and the same number of children are in each room. If c children attend the center, write an
raketka [301]

Answer:

Number of children in each room = c / 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Number of rooms in care center = 3

Number of children attend the center = c

Find:

Number of children in each room

Computation:

Number of children in each room = Number of children attend the center / Number of rooms in care center

Number of children in each room = c / 3
