A theta wave is a type of brain wave that is associated with sleep spindles. Brain waves is defined as the regular arrangement of electrical activity that takes place in the brain. Such brain waves are associated with behaviors, thought, and emotions.

There are five types of brain waves that are ranging from lower frequency level to a higher frequency level. They are as follows delta, alpha, theta, beta, and gamma brain wave.

Further explanation:

Sleep involves the recurring state of mind or an inconsistent state of being. These phases can be differentiated from one another. Sleep is divided into two general phases, such as,

(i) Rapid eye movement (REM): This stage is an active period of sleep characterized by the intense activity of the brain.

In these stages, the waves originating from the brain are fast and desynchronized similar to those waves occurs in the waking stage.

(ii) Non-rapid eye movement (NREM): This stage is associated with the reduction in the physiological activity of the brain. This stage is further divided into three stages on the basis of patterns of brain wave.

The first stage of sleep takes place between sleep and wakefulness. It is a period in which a person can drift to sleep.

In this stage, the process of respiration and heartbeat slows down. Muscle tension and body temperature decreases during this phase.

This stage is associated with the alpha and theta waves according to their brain activity. Theta waves have low frequency and high amplitude than alpha waves.

In stage 2, the body is in a deep relaxation state, and the activity of the brain is dominated by theta wave. The activity of the mind is also interrupted by brief bursts of activity called sleep spindles.

It is defined as a quick burst of high-frequency brain waves that is essential for learning and memory.

What are the thin tubes that form between the centrioles during mitosis?
Flauer [41]
The thin tubes that form between the centrioles during mitosis are the spindle fibres. Spindle fibers originates from a protein structure that divides the genetic material in a cell. They are necessary for the equal division of the chromosomes in a parental cell into two daughter cells during bth types of nuclear division (mitosis and meiosis). During the process of mitosis they are called mitotic spindles.
