Desegregation is the ending of a policy of racial segregation.

Desegregation is the process to end segregation in public areas based on race. In the case of the American Armed Forces, World War II had  the effect of bringing desegregation ; prior to desegregation, federal  law stated that black troops could not fight in the same units as white troops.

Exploration was very important for many reasons. Some of those reasons would include finding good and new land for plantations and colonies, making maps, picking what is needed and what is not for expansion. It was all unknown land so they needed as much information possible in order to make better use of their resources.
