Answer:

Pathos appeals to an audience's need to belong. The correct answer is the third one.

Explanation:

Pathos is a device in an argument that helps convince people by appealing to their feelings and emotions. By using this device, the audience see themselves in the speaker, they see themselves reflected in him/her, they feel like part of something bigger, that they belong to a group of people that feel the same way they do. Pathos is drawn out through an emotional response.

Whose job is it to evaluate the credibility of Internet-based research
icang [17]
I would say that it is the job of those who use the internet research ie such as authors to evaluate the credibility of the information gleaned from there and one way is to identify the source ie to verify it say a magazine that is a legitimate entity by calling it or say by asking someone one knows about the validity of the facts one has gathered to confirm them or at least part of them as a sample to test the validity of the whole information. Checking more than one source is a good idea too to corroborate information if much the same answer is obtained from say 2 or more sources it probably has more credibility.

SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer: women deferring to men

Explanation:

Désirée's acceptance of blame for the baby's skin color illustrates the theme of women deferring to men.

In the short story, Kate Chopin Désirée was adopted by a rich familiy in Louisiana. Later, Désirée married and they had a black baby. Since she didn't know her ancestral background, she accepted the blame for the color of the baby. This illustrated the theme of women deferring to men.
