How did the Civil War affect Westward Expansion

History
1 answer:
dybincka [34]3 years ago
7 0

During westward expansion, the white settlers were following the false idea of Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny stated that it was God's plan for them to conquer and settle all of America.

The Civil War was indirectly caused by Westward expansion because It was fought over slavery between the free and slave states. If there had been no Westward expansion, there would have been no separation of the free states from the slave states
