Define your American Dream. Explain any possible obstacles and adjustments you may have to make in order to achieve your dream i
Verizon [17]

Answer: I can't really give you an answer because I don't know your dream. But I'd say the TYPICAL American dream is to get a stable, good paying job, marry the person you love, have two kids, and live in a big nice house. The obstacles you would have to overcome are possibly school fees, working and getting along with people, raising your kids right. I'm not sure about the thesis and supporting details because like I said, not my dream. It's yours.

Going out to a baseball game can always boost the morale of the players.
Mama L [17]

After reading the sentence carefully, we can identify the problem in it as being the following among the answer choices:

C. Shift in point of view.

  • A shift in point of view occurs when we tell something from two different perspectives.
  • For example, take a look at the sentence below:

<u>"I visited the museum because you can always relax at an art exhibition."</u>

  • Although the sentence is not too confusing, it begins with one point of view, "I", and changes to another, "you".
  • That is what happens in the sentence we are analyzing here.
  • Who goes to a baseball game? The audience. But all of a sudden, the speaker is talking about the players.
  • Of course, the players will be there. But they are not "going" to the game, they are playing it.
  • Thus, there was shift from one perspective, "the audience", to another, "the players".

grigory [225]

1 : a failure to understand : misinterpretation The instructions were carefully written to prevent misunderstanding. 2 : quarrel, disagreement an unfortunate misunderstanding between two old friends.

Perhaps the biggest reason for miscommunication and misunderstanding is a disparity of viewpoints. In other words, the two parties can have a different idea of what the subject of the conversation means. This is due to mental models.
