Vinegar could usually be added to pickles because the added acid of the vinegar inhibits any sort of bacteria from entering the substance, and this would help keep them fresh for a longer period of time too.

Answer:

Vinegar inhibits the growth of microbes by adding acidic pH to the pickle.

Explanation:

Growth of microbes spoils the pickle. Irrespective of their ability to grow in a wide range of pH, each microbial species has its optimum pH. Any deviation from optimum pH slows down or prevents the growth of the microbes. Vinegar serves as a preservative for pickles as it lowers down the pH of pickle and makes it extremely acidic. The extremely acidic conditions do not allow the growth and development of microbes. Hence, the pickle is preserved for a longer time.

Vlad [161]
Endoplasmic reticulum is an organelle within a cell. It is divided into smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum. Smooth endoplasmic reticulum is involved in synthesis and transportation of of lipids while rough endoplasmic reticulum contains ribosomes which are responsible for synthesis of proteins, therefore rough ER is involved in transportation of proteins. A few proteins are synthesized in the mitochondria and the plastids. Therefore, proteins synthesized elsewhere other than the rough ER are the Mitochondrial proteins
