Which sentence uses the passive voice?

The correct answer is A. The tree was planted by Mary.

This can easily be noticed because of the construction "was planted" and the "by Mary" action doer positioning.

Walking down the endless road to my apartment, I just couldn’t stop thinking about work. It was freezing cold and hard to see through the blizzard. The snow beneath me was like an egg shell making crunching noise at every step I took. Finally, I had reached my doorstep. As I wrapped my hand around the frostbitten doorknob, a sweep of fresh warm air thrusted past my body. Struggling, I closed the door behind me.

Hope that helps :)
