Which pair of lines from the poem best captures the viewpoint that Hughes expresses regarding race in the piece? “I went to scho

I would say the correct answer is the last option - <span>“I guess being colored doesn’t make me not like / the same things other folks like who are other races.”
The lines show us Hughes true thoughts about race - he believes that even though people are born with different skin colors, it doesn't mean that they cannot like the same things, that they cannot be the same people, have the same characteristics, interests, loves, etc. Race has nothing to do with what kind of a person one is.

What can we do to listen more effectively?
QveST [7]

Answer: I can’t think of a more important point in listening than to be quiet so you can hear what someone is saying. To question, in your own mind, “was that IS or IS NOT”? because of unnecessary interruptions by someone else talking or making too much noise can cause you to lose even more! While you are wondering, you cannot concentrate as well on what you hear if you are thinking about what you may already have missed! These things put you even further behind.

This may sound like a small point, but even someone smacking gum or some other unnecessary noises can interrupt the flow of the speaker, what they say, (or what you thought they said), and can cause you to not hear clearly, and miss an important point. It is far more effective for the listener, and the speaker, if quiet and absolute, focused attention is maintained. It is also simply good manners to not interrupt the others. If you do not want to learn, quietly leave.

Which three phrases correctly complete the sentence? he demonstrated a resolve to survive. he proved his commanding physical str
Sloan [31]

Answer:

The three phrases which complete the sentence (in their right) are:

A, D and C.

  • He demonstrated a resolve to survive.
  • He applied strategy to the need at hand
  • He pushed through difficult circumstances.

Explanation

Every action begins as a thought. So it's reasonable to put 'A' first. Resolutions begin in the mind.

The last sentence 'C' reports some kind of conclusion. "He pushed through difficult circumstances."

'D' tells us how: He pushed through difficult circumstances by "applying strategy to the need at hand"

Cheers!
