Which pair of lines from the poem best captures the viewpoint that Hughes expresses regarding race in the piece? “I went to scho

ol there, then Durham, then here / to this college on the hill above Harlem.” “I feel and see and hear, Harlem, I hear you: / hear you, hear me—we two—you, me, talk on this page.” “I wonder if it’s that simple? / I am twenty-two, colored, born in Winston-Salem.” “I guess being colored doesn’t make me not like / the same things other folks like who are other races.”

I would say the correct answer is the last option - “I guess being colored doesn’t make me not like / the same things other folks like who are other races.”
The lines show us Hughes true thoughts about race - he believes that even though people are born with different skin colors, it doesn't mean that they cannot like the same things, that they cannot be the same people, have the same characteristics, interests, loves, etc. Race has nothing to do with what kind of a person one is.

At what point does robinson feel his father may have been correct in his direction?
ElenaW [278]
Robinson Crusoe's father never wanted him to go to sea. He espoused the contents of staying at home and taking the "middle station" in life. When Crusoe is 19, he sails off to London without telling his father or mother. Now Crusoe had never been to see before. The beginning of the voyage was rough. The waves were high and the ship unsteady. Crusoe felt that he was "overtaken by the judgment of Heaven" for disobeying his father. He vowed to, if his life was spared, return home when he reached land. This vow, of course, was short lived.

With practice, both Kendra and Jason mastered the violin. (1 point)
zlopas [31]
Assuming this is referring to the word "violin", it would be a "direct object", since it is the thing being mastered, which means the verb (action) of the sentence is directly applied to it.
