It basically forced the Roman empire to build up a strong navy if they ever wanted to conquer different regions fast enough. Because of thier specific environment, they were limited in the way through which they could spread. Because of this, the only other option was spreading through water.

Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The English colonies in North America were part of a larger Atlantic community in that English people were the ones that decided to leave Britain for different reasons in order to start a new life or in pursuit of better opportunities to make money. Different reasons for different kinds of people.

For instance, the case of the founders of the Jamestown, Virginia colony of 1607. They were sponsored by the English corporation, the London-Virginia Company to make the trip to the Americas, work the land and exploit the raw material and make a profit. But they were still part of a larger Atlantic community.

Or the case of the Puritans that arrived at the coast of North America in 1620 to found the Plymouth colony. They were strict religious men and women that left Britain due to the religious persecution of the Church of England. They opted to make the trip to establish a new place to practice their religious teachings freely.

Why did Congress refrain from including the power the tax in the article of confederation?
skelet666 [1.2K]

Congress refrain from including the power the tax in the article of confederation "since they opposed tax regulation by government, like the empire, as they wanted taxes to be under states' power".

Explanation:

The Article of Confederations was the first constitution of the U.S. It was not adopted until 1781 and was presented by the Continental Congress in 1777. Under the Constitution the states had the power to tax, not Congress.

Only by requesting the states for funding, lending from foreign governments or selling western lands, representatives will raise money. A sequence of events that unfolded during the 1780s persuaded a group of political leaders that the Confederation Articles offered an insufficient policy structure.

I need help on this please and thank you
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

From 1879 to 1888 a series of highly publicized boomer raids led by adventurers such as David L. Payne and William Couch broke the quiet of the Unassigned Lands. Typically, the boomers eluded cavalry units and staked their claims to land at sites such as the future towns of Oklahoma City and Stillwater, but each time, they were arrested and escorted out of the territory. In large part due to that constant promotion, compounded by the lobbying power of the Santa Fe Railway Company, Congress opened the Unassigned Lands to non-Indian settlement on April 22, 1889. A little more than one year later, on May 2, 1890, Congress created the Oklahoma Territory, which concluded the life of the area briefly and unofficially known as the Unassigned Lands.
