In a representative democracy, the lawmakers are being polled by the citizens of the nation while in a direct democracy citizens pools for the implementation of the law instead of having a political representative.

Further Explanations:

Representative democracy or indirect democracy as the type of democracy based on the principles of elected official’s representation. In this system, the eligible individuals of the realm polls for the implementation of the law as we can take the example of the United States where the president and the other member of congress are being elected by the citizens of the nation. Even the local and state officials are being elected by the inhabitants.

Direct democracy is the form of administration involving the resident of the country while implementing and law framing procedures. The concept denies that few should not rule many and the representatives and are not liable to get the salary. All the official decisions of the nation are taken with the consent of the resident of the nation. One such example of direct democracy was seen in ancient Athenian society where women, foreigners, and slaves were not granted voting rights.

In a representative democracy, citizens of a country pick individuals to make laws for them. This is the case in the United States, as citizens vpte on individuals to serve in the local, state, and national government .

On the other hand, a direct democracy would be one in which the citizens vote on laws themselves instead of having politicians represent their views. This type of democracy is almost impossible in a country with a large population.

Why were the citizens of Washington, DC, not allowed to vote in presidential elections until 1961?
Pani-rosa [81]
They did not have any electors to represent them
In the Congress, there is no representative from Washington D.C despite the fact that it has more than the required number of residents living in Washington D.C. This is also because Washington D.C used to be a District of Columbia. Aside from that, the Washington D.C used to be the home of many African-Americans in the United States. In the 1801, the people were given the rights under the representation of Maryland or Virginia but were stopped because of the Organic Acts. It had been a struggle for the Americans living in the United States.

Why do you think trenches were used during WWI?
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

During WWI, trenches were used to try to protect soldiers from poison gas, giving them more time to put on gas masks. Dysentery, cholera, typhoid fever, and trench foot were all common diseases in the trenches, especially during WWI. Gigantic rats were common in the trenches of WWI and WWII.
