A. Failure because distraught means "deeply upset or agitated", and affliction means "something that causes pain".
Sullen means "bad tempered or in a bad mood", and B and C don't go along with that. :D

Answer: A. failure

"Distraught" means "bewildered" or "deeply agitated." On the other hand, "affliction" refers to "something that may cause pain or suffering." Therefore, we know that a person is distraught because of an affliction. On the other hand, "sullen" means in a bad mood. "Failure" is the word that fits the best, as a person is more likely to be sullen because of a failure than because any of the other options.

How can somebody win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote?
Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

Yes it is possible

Explanation:

So you can win the popular vote as in the one we can all vote in. So most Americans in this case will like you. However the electoral is like the "elite and experienced politicians" who vote. They made this to prevent a dumb majority. You can argue whether this is a dumb thing because it could be. But it pretty much states that we do not trust what most Americans think. We only trust a few. These few can still be influenced by the majority though.
