Margo read two epics. The first epic is the story of a soldier who got lost at sea and sailed for many years before finding his

way home. While he was gone, his family struggled financially. Knowing how much their father valued his ancestors’ homeland, his children refused bribes of food and money offered in exchange for the land. They preferred to live humbly and proudly. Upon his return, their father’s joy was boundless, which pleased his sons and daughters. The second epic is the story of a great leader and prince who was banished from his home by an evil cousin. While traveling and living a simple life in the forest, the prince met and married a princess. Despite their royal backgrounds, neither of them minded living safely hidden in the forest. This humility saved their lives on a number of occasions, and their great happiness did not depend on living in a castle. When comparing these two myths, what qualities do both myth-tellers seem to value? A. humility and humbleness B. cleverness and wit C. home and property D. physical strength and agility

The answer is A. humility and humbleness

Explanation:

In narratives such as myths or epics, it is common the characters display positive qualities that serve as a guide or example of desirable qualities in a culture and also it is common different narratives share similar qualities. This can be seen in the two narratives Margo read because in the case of the first narrative the relatives of the soldier despite struggled financially and having the opportunity to give up to his homeland for food and money decide to live a modest life and accept there situation which is part of humility and humbleness. Similarly, in the second narrative, a prince has to leave his luxurious life and in the process, he finds out by having a modest and simple life he was happy along with his wife which also shows the importance of humility and humbleness.
