Answer : y = 0.08x^2 - 1.6x + 13 and y= 0.08 (x- 10)^2 + 5

Sandi skates along a path that can be modeled by the equation

y = 0.08x^2 - 1.6x + 13

David starts at (20, 13) and skates along a path that can be modeled by a quadratic function with a vertex at (10, 5).

Vertex form of quadratic function is

y = a(x-h)^2 + k where (h,k) is the vertex

We plug in (10,5) for h and k

y= a(x-10)^2 + 5

Now plug in (20,13) in the above equation and find out 'a'

13 = a(20 - 10)^2 + 5

13 = a(10)^2 + 5

13 = 100 a + 5

Subtract 5 on both sides

8 = 100a

a = 0.08

When we plug in 0.08 for 'a' then the equation becomes

y= 0.08 (x- 10)^2 + 5

Find the area of the figure. PLEASSEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
allochka39001 [22]

Given:

side length = 6 ft

To find:

The area of the figure

Solution:

Area of the square = side × side

                               = 6 × 6

Area of the square = 36 ft²

Diameter of the semi-circle = 6 ft

Radius of the semi-circle = 6 ÷ 2 = 3 ft

Area of the semi-circle = \frac{1}{2} \pi r^2

                                      $=\frac{1}{2} \times 3.14 \times 3^2

Area of the semi-circle = 14.13 ft²

Area of the figure = Area of the square - Area of the semi-circle

                              = 36 ft² - 14.13 ft²

                              = 21.87 ft²

Area of the figure = 21.9 ft²

The area of the figure is 21.9 ft².

Simplify this expression.<br><br> 20.25 –9 1/2+ 11<br><br> Pls help
grigory [225]

Answer:

The answer is -0.25.

Step-by-step explanation:

Using PEMDAS, add 9.5 + 11 first, which results in 20.5. Then substract 20.5 from 20.25, 20.25 - 20.5. This leads to -0.25 or -1/4.

Write an equation for the nth term of the geometric sequences. Then Find a6
love history [14]

Answer: The nth term of a geometric progression is Tn = ar^(n-1)

A. 12

B. 3.6

C. -3/4

D. 0.6

Step-by-step explanation:

The nth term of a geometric progression is Tn = ar^(n-1)

Where Tn= nth term

a = first term

r = common ratio

n = number

A. a6 = (2*6) = 12

B. a6 = (0.6*6) = 3.6

C. a6 = (-1/8*6) = -3/4

D. a6 = (0.1*6) = 0.6

A group of 24 students have recess together. They are making teams to play a game. Each team has to have exactly 5 players, and
AysviL [449]
They can make 4 teams and have 4 players that won’t be in a team.

This is because 5*5 is 25 but they don’t have 25 players so you would have to go down which is 4*5=20. Sorry if that’s very confusing but hope that helps!
