Which of the following might a person rue

English
1 answer:
Vesnalui [34]4 years ago

B and C make sense but more than likely C. B is an option because to rue means to regret something so if you take advice from an old wise person, it COULD end up with you doing something you regret. But C is more likely because joining a conspiracy will cause you to do something bad more than likely.

In story of an hour What is the central theme, and how is that theme developed?
swat32
At first, freedom seems like a terrible thing to Mrs. Mallard, who's restricted in lots of ways: through her marriage, by her bad heart, and even inside her home, which she doesn't leave during "The Story of an Hour."

Hey can anyone pls tell me the Introductory Paragraph Hook for the story "the lottery"
arsen [322]

The use of imagery is a popular technique in short fiction. A related or repeated set of images or symbols can often be used to represent major ideas in the literary work. Using a piece of short fiction, analyze the set of objects and symbols in the text which reveal the theme of the work. What is the connection between the images and/or objects? How does the author use them to stand in place of abstract ideas or concepts?

Albert announced the development of a new variety of organic wheat that --- heat.
Alja [10]

Answer:

a. tolerates

Explanation:

The blank links a subject (new variety) and an object (heat). Thus, we need a verb. We can strike out b and d, which are not verbs.

Excellent. Let's take a look at the two verbs of a and c. The difference between these two is that one refers to a singular subject, and the other refers to a plural one. What is the subject in this sentence (that the ... verb is referring to?) It is "new variety", or rather "variety". This is a singular noun (even though variety refers to more than one thing. Be careful!) Thus, since we have a singular noun, we need to use the singular verb which is a) tolerates.

Hope this helps!
