x = \frac{(4 + 5y)}{(y + 3)}

multiply both sides by (x - 5)

y(x - 5) = 4 - 3x

xy - 5y = 4 - 3x

collect terms in x on the left side of the equation and other terms on the right side.

add 3x to both sides

xy + 3x - 5 y = 4

add 5y to both sides

xy + 3x = 4 + 5y

take out x as a common factor on the left side

x(y + 3) = 4 + 5y

divide both sides by (y + 3)

x = \frac{(4 + 5y)}{(y + 3)}

Cross Multiply by 'x - 5'
Hence
y(x - 5) = 4 -3x
xy - 5y = 4 - 3x

Move all the terms containing an 'x' to one side of the equals and all the others to the opposite side.
xy + 3x = 4 + 5y
Factor out 'x'
x(y + 3) = 4 + 5y
'Cross' divide by 'y + 3'
x = ( 4 + 5y) / (y + 3 )

'x' is now the subject.

Find the vertex of the function given below.

y= x2 - 6x +1
Helga [31]

Answer:

V( 3, -8 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Parable equation is of the form:

( x - h )² = 4p*(y - k)

In that expression, vertex has coordinates V ( h, k )

Then all we have to do is transform the given equation

y = x² - 6x + 1       or     x² - 6x  = y - 1          (1)

We can get a perfect square trinomial in the first member of the equation according to:

x²  -  6x   =   ( x - 3 )²  - 9

(x - 3 )²   = x² - 6x  + 9

By substitution  en equation (1)

( x - 3 )² - 9 = y - 1

( x - 3 )² = y -1 + 9

( x - 3 )² = y + 8

( x - 3 )² = (y + 8 )

Then vertex coordinates are

V( 3 , -8)

Find the t-value such that the area in the right tail is 0.005 with 28 degrees of freedom.
klasskru [66]

Answer:

t = 3.673900

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

df = 28 -- degree of freedom

Area = 0.005

Required

Determine the t-value

The given parameters can be illustrated as follows:

P(T > t) = \alpha

Where

\alpha = 0.005

So, we have:

P(T>t) = 0.005

To solve further, we make use of the attached the student's t distribution table.

From the attached table,

The t-value is given at the row with df = 28 and \alpha = 0.005 is 3.673900

Hence, t = 3.673900

Convert 45/10 into a mixed number
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

4 5/10

Step-by-step explanation:

Divide. You will have a remainder. Put the remainder over the denominator:

45/10 = 40/10 + 5/10 = 4 5/10

4 5/10 is your answer.
